ABBA Number One in the Charts Again!
Having dominated the charts in the 70’s, ABBA shows its star power yet again by heading straight to the top of the gaming charts with SingStar® ABBA
Auckland, Friday, 28 November 2008: Few bands have dominated the pop charts like Swedish pop sensation ABBA did in the 1970’s; and with ABBA mania surfacing again, they have rocketed back to the top of the charts once more - this time the gaming charts!
More than 1,400 copies of SingStar ABBA for PlayStation® 2 and PLAYSTATION®3 have been sold in New Zealand in the first week alone (w/c 17 November - source GFK).
“The success of the launch clearly illustrates just how popular SingStar has become with Kiwis right around the country, irrespective of their age or musical taste. We always knew SingStar ABBA would be popular and we’re very pleased with the sales so far. It’s the perfect soundtrack to any party and guaranteed to get pop lovers of all ages on their feet this Christmas,” says David Hine, Sales and Marketing Manager, Sony Computer Entertainment New Zealand Ltd.
