The show. With just the one stage to focus upon, concert goers will of course be able to enjoy all of the acts on the bill.
The Sunshine Sound System will man the decks and MC the show while MMM has allowed plenty of time between bands for concert goers to re-stock and visit the numerous on site facilities.
Digitally delayed sound will as always be fed to the Punga Bar ensuring that you don’t miss a note.
For the first time MMM will make available a cosy chill out zone under some huge Kahikatea trees and open up a gorgeous bush track to delight the tree huggers.
Parking, Early arrivals will be directed by marshals to appropriate parks within 300 metres of the venue. Once these parks are full a complimentary shuttle service will operate all day from our secured bulk park at the base of the mountain. MMM is also currently arranging a shuttle service from Auckland, the details of which will be posted on the MMM site soon.
The Punga Bar will be open from midday and will be serving a dazzling array of your favourite Lion brands including Speights Golden lager, Stella Artois, Steinlager pure and a comprehensive range of premium wines plus all the essential RTD’s.
Our pals from Lothlorien will of course have cases of their unique feijoa bubbly on offer too.
Red Bull is our preferred energy drink and will be available neat or blended with Smirnoffs finest red Vodka on ice.
Thirst quenching healthy Juices and a brand of water new to the market will also make its debut.
The Kauri Kitchen chefs are hard at work preparing the menu which will include MMM’s trademark spit roast open sandwiches, wholesome and filling curries and an organic and protein packed choice of vegetarian delights.
Deserts and coffee selected to satisfy the connoisseurs.
Rodney district Mayor Penney Webster say’s
“Events such as Music Mountain Matakana’s are very important, not only to Matakana itself but also to the wider Rodney district. Clearly they attract people to the district but also showcase our creative and entrepreneurial spirit.”
Looking forward to a psychedelic 60’s revival up at Music Mountain this summer. It will be great to see some old friends that we know will be there.

Little Bushman.
Music wise, the crew are keen as to see The Black Seeds and Little Bushman…these guys always put on a great show. Also looking forward to seeing dDub, Tahuna and Salmonella – all great bands.
We have been working hard on a bunch of new tunes – some brazilian inspired stuff and some more heavy stuff. The guys are really looking forward to playing some of this live. With the new Vector Arena, we're getting a lot more international acts and with the wide range of influences, we tend to get out to quite a few gigs. Recently the guys have been to Stevie Wonder, Roy Ayers and some will be into KOL etc. Locally, we get out as much as we can – especially to check out new local bands.
Vamos a hacer un show halucinante, con muchas canciones nuevas… nos vemos alli loco. Ay Moleque!
We've heard that MMM is really well laid out and the vibe is great. Looking forward to playing there!
Batacuda Sound Machine.
We're stoked to be part of MMM. the line-up is packed full of wicked live acts, and besides being excited to be playing ourselves, we're very keen to be checking out the other bands. (Especially Little Bushmen and batucada Sound machine!)
We play/tour NZ so much we end up missing out on a lot of what our contemporaries are up to musically, so it's going to be a great opportunity at MMM to check the other bands out.
Plus - we have heard that the setting is amazing, beautiful, and a fantastic place to be holding an event such as this. "just like Glastonbury' they say!
dDub are together regularly - writing and jamming, and we're always working on new material, so we'll be slotting a few of our new tunes into the set. We're really into pushing the boundaries of the roots genres...and rather than re-hash classic styles, we're into creating in our own way, twisting the basics, not conforming to classic roots/reggae styles, so that we come up with a sound that's ours, and not been done before. Always striving for something different and more..
So - not far from Aucks - I reckon people should get their butts there for the party of the summa!
Cheers
Derek
