Sheba gets cheeky in Paekakariki

New Zealand performance artist Sheba today announced the release of her first single and music video on the eve of the launch of her debut double album Sheba this Monday November 3.
Sheba has recorded a new version of the song Paekakariki, co-produced by herself and emerging producer Skylab, gifting the track the 'calyptro' beats and extra bounce.
The song was written while Sheba was living in Paekakariki after returning from performing in Shanghai.
The style is a mix of Charleston meets Calypso, drawing on her research of 1920s music, especially that of Josephine Baker from whom she drew inspiration from for the video.
Sheba also produced the video for Paekakariki, one of three videos featured on the album's second disc, The White Album that showcases live recordings and multimedia.
Musicians featured in Paekakariki include Myele Manzanza (Olmecha Supreme), Crete Haami (Hollie Smith Band), Peter Hill (Age Pryor) and Tim Solly and Richard Wise, both of whom played with Sheba in her
