AA Bookabach to help avoid ‘battle of the bach"

Media Release: 3 September 2008

AA Bookabach to help Kiwis avoid ‘battle of the bach’ this summer

New Zealand’s leading bach and holiday home rental website is now making its booking system available free of charge to owners, their family and friends.

AA Bookabach is an online service that currently puts the owners and property managers of approximately 2300 baches and holiday homes in touch with potential renters. Bach owners who do not rent their properties will also now be able to benefit from the service, using a secure private reservation system for co-owners, family and friends that cannot be publicly viewed.

Peter Miles, CEO of AA Bookabach, says “our reservation engine has become so simple and easy to use that we decided to make it available to all Kiwi bach and holiday home owners free-of-charge.”

The new service, dubbed the Family and Friends Plan, allows bach and holiday home owners to create their own personal online community - with co-owners, family, and friends as members, who can then share with each other their respective bookings.

“New Zealand has over 50,000 baches and holiday homes and, in situations where large extended families use the bach or a holiday home has multiple owners, coordinating plans can be a real issue. Double bookings and conflicts can often arise.”

“We hope this free service will help Kiwis avoid the ‘battle for the bach’ this summer,” says Mr Miles.

The new family and friends plan is one of a number of new initiatives recently launched by AA Bookabach, including the ability to earn AA Rewards Points when renting a property.
