Hi Tech Fashion Week
Proving fashion comes in a variety of forms, Sony is preparing to make a statement around the catwalk at this year’s Air New Zealand Fashion Week.
As the event’s official technology provider, Sony Alpha D-SLR cameras, BRAVIA televisions and VAIO notebooks are amongst products which will ensure Air New Zealand Fashion Week is like.no.other.
Sam Williams, marketing manager for Sony, says they are thrilled to be back on board for 2008.
“What originally started as a photography sponsorship with our Alpha range has grown into something much bigger which is really exciting,” he says.
“We are very pleased with how much our relationship with the Fashion Week team has strengthened over the three years we’ve worked together.”
Sony’s involvement at Air New Zealand Fashion Week will span across a range of areas.
The Sony Alpha Photography Competition will provide an opportunity for fashion and design students to work in the professional arena.
“Entrants get the chance to mix and mingle with the pros and take photos from the pit at the end of the catwalk. It’s proved to be really successful over the past few years, so we’re looking forward to facilitating the competition again,” says Mr Williams.
All Air New Zealand Fashion Week footage will be shot with Sony HD camera equipment.
The footage will be edited on VAIO notebooks and given to designers to promote their new ranges further.
Additionally, the content will be streamed live onsite to a brand new range of BRAVIA V-Series LCD televisions.
VAIO notebooks will also play a big technical role at this year’s event.
As well as being available for journalists to use in the media room, a number will be placed around the venue for fashion-savvy attendees to surf the web in between shows.
“It’s great that VAIO will have a presence this year because it’s a perfect fit with the glitterati who attend Air New Zealand Fashion Week. VAIO is by far the trendiest laptop range on the market,” says Mr Williams.
