Shane Cortese: In rock 'n' roll heaven
Shane Cortese: In rock 'n' roll heaven
WITH just
over a week before his explosive 50s JUKEBOX TOUR hits the
road, Outrageous Fortune star Shane Cortese is in "rock n
roll heaven"!
Not only is he celebrating the national release of his 14-track debut album, his show has been bought out by a major Australian venue and, due to popular demand, an Auckland show has been added to an extensive New Zealand itinerary.
The new show, on September 26, at the Bruce Mason Centre on Auckland's North Shore, will cap off a 12-venue tour that begins in Whangarei on September 4 and travels through to Invercargill. Shane and his eight-piece Class of 58 band will have audiences jumping in their seats to the “stonking” sounds of classic rock ‘n roll hits. Songs include a huge version of Roll Over Beethoven, featuring numerous Beethoven symphonies, and a 20-minute tribute to the king of rock n’ roll Elvis that has left audiences crying.
His album, Shane Cortese, Jukebox 58, will be available from all major retailers as of next week. Featuring the full band plus a kicking Horn Section, new life is added to such classics as “Johnny Be Goode” Roll Over Beethoven” and “It’s Only Make Believe”, as well as great versions of Buddy Holly’s “True love Ways”, “Heartbeat” and Dion’s ‘”The Wanderer” and their signature tune, “Rock and Roll Heaven”.
Hearing the buzz about the show, Australian venue Twin Towns International Showroom at Surfers Paradise have snapped up the 50s Jukebox show and will feature it on November 14.
An elated Shane says he is delighted with the success of the show and thrilled to be taking it to such large national and international audiences.
He says he decided to add the new Auckland show as a special thank you to his loyal supporters. Tickets will be available at the special price of $45 from Ticket Master.

Shane and his big band will tell his story through music, tracking his life from Sun Recording Studios through the movie years, the ‘68 comeback special and Vegas before his untimely death in 1977.
The suave actor and his band stage a tight, fast-moving, upbeat, bright show that revives the magic of Buddy Holly, Del Shannon, Eddie Cochrane, Roy Orbison, Ricky Nelson and Gene Vincent.
“Close your eyes and you’d think Elvis had re-entered the room. He is that good”—Sunday News.
