Brilliant And Glorious Cultural Mix Creates Fashion And Entertaiment Spectacular
Glorious creative fashion statements combined with vibrant, unexpected and brilliant entertainment mixes - makes Westfield Style Pasifika truly unique in the world as an entertainment spectacular that will explode onto the Vector Arena Stage for ONE NIGHT only on Friday Sept 5.
“For me the continued mix of cultures makes the Westfield Style Pasifika the very best fashion event!” Francis Hooper of WORLD.
Francis is a judge of New Zealand’s most innovative fashion awards celebrating the fusion of influences from Asia and the Pacific.
Onstage will be the best creative work of over 100 fashion finalists with the music and entertainment showcasing great performers that include choirs, opera, Hip Hop, dance both from the Pacific and Asia.
“Judging this years Westfield Style Pasifika was very creative for me, the calibre of entrant has over the years risen to a point that many designers are now entering and taking Westfield Style Pasifika very seriously as a creative avenue to expose to New Zealand their work” continued WORLD’S Francis Cooper who has judged Style Pasifika for some years.
“Fashion designers need to be able to express themselves not only in a commercial sense but purely in creative design.”
The whole show is filmed for broadcasting as a television spectacular for TV One.
CATEGORIES
The ten categories in the Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Award are MAC Pasifika Body Art; Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs Traditionally Inspired; Resene Asia Pasifika; NZ Aids Foundation Pasifika Hero; Schwarzkopf Three Piece Collection; FLAVA Urban Street Wear; Barkers Menswear; Kohler Evening Wear; Pacific Blue Bridal Wear and Te Puni Kokiri Parent and Child.
JUDGES
Liz Mitchell, Francis Hooper WORLD, Tony Milich Sabatini, Des Rusk of Barkers and Pacific Advisor Mary Ama.
AWARDS
The TVNZ Supreme Award winner receives $3000 and two tickets on Pacific Blue to the Pacific Islands. Westfield New Zealand Runner Up receives $2000.
Each category winner receives $1000.
The Awards will be presented by the Prime Minister Rt Hon Helen Clark.
