Style Christchurch 2008 is pleased to announce the final list of designers who will show at this year’s big ‘Finale Show’ on November 7th.

Style Christchurch is proud to welcome Helen Cherry one of New Zealand’s most long standing fashion brands to this year’s Finale Show. Well reputed for her fresh, functional designs and clever use of tailoring and fabrics, Cherry will be sending her trademark style of exquisite fabrics down the catwalk.
Another exciting announcement sees Huffer as part of the star line up for 2008. The much loved Huffer label is now known to delight and inspire people right around the world. Recognized for their uniquely New Zealand approach to designing - Whether its jackets and t-shirts or jandals and underpants, Huffer will no doubt deliver “uber cool” with their latest range.
Workshop Denim will also be wowing audiences with their latest collection. This collaboration between three designers shows a youthful energy and a light-hearted play on volume and distinctive silhouettes. Style Christchurch is excited to showcase this collection of well made and wearable designs.
New to this year’s Finale Show is also MisteR, an exclusive New Zealand made menswear brand. Their jeans, jackets and shirts are a balanced mix of East meets West and Diesel Denim meets tailored costume. This year the collection will showcase touches of colour and collaged detail mixed with denims and tailored shapes.
One of New Zealand’s longest standing fashion labels Nom*D Is back again for the Finale Show at Style Christchurch 2008. Nom*D is well respected as one of the South Island’s flagship designers and will no doubt wow audiences with a thought provoking and edgy collection.
Another designer who is back for more is Emma Ford Swimwear who will present her latest range of limited edition designer swimwear. All Black Daniel Carter is also returning with his international clothing range GAS, which blends denim-wear and sophisticated casual men’s attire.
One of Canterbury’s best known and most decorated fashion designers Sonia Smith is also set to return. This year, Smith’s exquisite collection will include everything from haute couture to feminine funky pieces.
Another exciting development sees two nationwide high fashion labels contributing to Style Christchurch 2008. Kylee Davis (former founder of Insidious Fix label) is sending her sexy and sophisticated label Stitch Ministry down the runway. Plus IPG’s alliance with the new tkstore range will present an alluring, uninhibited new direction in fashion to open the Finale Show.”
For the first time Style Christchurch widens the net to the South Pacific and welcomes International Guest Designer - Koila McBride from Fiji. Highly esteemed for her Pacific flavour, McBride’s designs are sure to spice up this year’s Finale Show!
Once again highly regarded retail label Sakaguchi will be welcomed back to the catwalk with his adventurous and captivating designs. Also joining the catwalk V womenswear is designed to be original and unusual, with a reengineered Haute Couture finish.
Director and Producer of Style Christchurch Andhy Blake comments on this year’s final designer line up for the Finale Show, “The final list of designers for the Finale Show is second to none. We have a great mix of national labels and Canterbury based labels. It’s exciting to present such a strong line up at the second year of Style Christchurch and we hope this will bring something special to the Christchurch fashion community”.
Now in its second year running, Style Christchurch consists of four exciting fashion events falling from November 3rd – 7th in the week leading up to New Zealand Cup and Show Week. The week begins with New Face Show, followed by The Retail Collections Show, then the Red Dress Collection (dinner and auction), and the big Finale Show. (Final dates TBC.)
The Christchurch City Council continues to support Style Christchurch for 2008 and plays a significant role in supporting each fashion show with locations and hosting.
