Young NZ art website owner seeking $1million from leg advertising – website forever
A young New Zealand art website owner is seeking to attract a $1 million of advertising tattooed on his leg.
Christchurch man James Stewart, 24, has what he calls a blank canvas on his leg and space for 200 advertisements tattooed on to his leg at $5000 a time.
The idea was inspired by the Million Dollar Homepage but Stewart is offering to have his leg tattooed instead - and artwork instead of logos.
``Advertisers will receive their logo with an arrow pointing to the piece they paid for, a link to a page about their company and a link to their website. All sponsors will also get a free A3 print of the finished leg with their piece on it,’’ Stewart said today.
``All advertisers will automatically become sponsors of his Art Klick website and be offered first rights to sponsor events and competitions in the future.’’
Stewart said he expected it would take up to three months to get all the advertisers on board. He is aiming for sponsorship from leading corporate companies who are making a difference and donating to charity.
``Naturally I will wear shorts whenever practical and today I will have a website www.milliondollarleg.co.nz with photos of my leg logos of the sponsors pointing to the part they paid for.
``This will exist for ever -- with a lot of traffic. The advertisers will receive a paragraph about their company and what they are doing to make change (environmental, social, political etc)
``A $1million is attainable and at $500 per cm it’s an affordable way to be part of history and help New Zealand arts"
