Mid-Winter Blues Blown Away By $698,440 Windfall
Three lucky players from Auckland (2) and Te Puke will have their mid-winter blues blown away thanks to a Lotto First
Division windfall of $698,440 each from tonight's draw, says NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.
"This will cheer up anyone who's feeling the winter blues at the moment especially if their rugby team hasn't done as
well as expected in this week's rounds," says Mr McLeay.
The winning tickets were purchased at Mt Wellington Just Mart and Harris Road Superette and Lotto in Auckland, and
United Video and Lotto in Te Puke.
Powerball has jackpotted this week, and will be worth an estimated $8 million in next Saturday's draw.
Strike Four was also struck by three lucky players who won $50,563 each. The tickets were bought at Farmcove Superette
in Manukau, Ruakaka Take Note, and Stevensons Paper Plus in Motueka.
Tonight's other big winner was Lorraine Hawira from Tauranga who won a luxury Motor Home worth over $150,000 on the
Winning Wheel on the live draw in Wellington.
The win was the highlight of a wonderful weekend in the capital, her first trip to Wellington in 20 years, where she and
her husband Alan enjoyed a luxury stay at the Duxton Hotel, a shopping trip with a stylist for an outfit to wear on the
show, and lunch with Lotto presenter Matt Lawrey, as part of her prize package.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the
type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.
In a remarkable coincidence, tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by the same outlet that sold last week's Winning
Wheel ticket Richmond Night N Day in Nelson. The serial number is 992 66712355 20xx.
"Anyone who bought a ticket at this retailer should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it as soon as
possible at any NZ Lotteries outlet," Todd McLeay says.
