UniQ Victoria's hottest dance party is back again!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Annual Traffic Light Party
UniQ Victoria's hottest dance party is back again!

UniQ Victoria, Victoria University's representative group for queer* students and their friends, is proud to announce the return of its annual Traffic Light Party. This year's party will be held at Subnine, 9 Edward St, Wellington, on Saturday 17 May, with festivities kicking things off at 9 pm. Tickets will be sold on the door at $5 for students, and $10 for non-students.

"This year's Traffic Light Party is going to be bigger and better than ever!", says UniQ Co-President Justin Curreen-Harris. "Not only will there be Go-Go Dancers as in previous years, but also performances by Ellie Kat — the reigning Miss Drag Wellington — as well as hot gay tunes to keep party-goers boogying all night long!

"It's a pretty simple theme", says Nathan Cooper, UniQ Victoria's other Co-president. "Party-goers wear green if they're single/available, red if not, and orange if unsure or somewhere in between. Coloured ribbons will be provided on entry, for those unable to wear the colour of their choice, and to avoid any confusion due to colour ambiguity."

"What's more," adds Justin, "The Chocolate Cake Company has been kind enough to donate some scrumptious cup-cakes as spot-prizes on the night. So don't forget to bring your best dance-moves!"

The Traffic Light Party has proved to be a popular event in previous years among university students and the general queer public alike, and this year promises to be just as good!

The Traffic Light Party is UniQ Victoria's biggest fundraising event, and this year's proceeds will go towards getting a team of delegates to the national UniQ conference in Dunedin, later this year.
