Children With Cancer And Their
Families To See Elton John In Auckland!
Sir Elton John
and New Zealand Promoter, Capital C: Concerts, have invited
over 100 special guests to see the concert at Auckland’s
Vector Arena on May 14.
Capital C: Concerts has continued with it’s commitment to New Zealand charity organisations with their invitation to the Child Cancer Foundations organiser Russell Crackett and his programme to get children who have recently finished treatment, those recently diagnosed with cancer, children who have gone into remission and children who have entered the palliative (terminal stage), their brothers sisters, families and extended families to take time out to enjoy visiting artists to the country.
Says Crackett, “If we can provide families, particularly couples with the opportunity to get their previous lives back for a few hours at a show; this goes a long way to providing quality to life and reinforcing togetherness.”
Capital C: concerts relationship with the
organization goes back some time and has includes previous
invitations to Elton’s concerts in Wellington and New
Plymouth as well as the hugely successful charity auction on
Trade Me with a signed guitar from Bon Jovi earlier this
year. Promoter Phil Sprey says, “When it is becoming
increasing difficult for charities to get funds, we are
happy to be get involved in ways that not only deliver
dollars but also give joy to those who need a little
cheering up.”
The Wellington based promoter has
contributed over quarter of a million dollars to NZ based
charities over the last 10
years.
