New 10-Screen Cinema To Open 24 April In Albany
The North Shore’s newest cinema multiplex opens at Westfield Albany on April 24, providing locals with a
state-of-the-art cinema experience they previously had to cross the Harbour Bridge for.
To celebrate the opening, SKYCITY Cinemas at Westfield Albany will host a Family Fun Day on Sunday, April 27 featuring
giveaways for the children, and entertainers including The Funky Monkeys, Magical Michael and a themed pirate show.
In addition to the 10 screens, including a 364-seat mega-screen, the complex delivers two firsts for the North Shore –
its first premium Gold Class cinema as well as its first 3D digital cinema system. Expanding on the traditional cinema
experience, the Albany complex also boasts a licensed bar, function and party rooms, as well as a Time Out interactive
games area.
SKYCITY Cinemas General Manager, Matthew Liebmann, says the complex is set to become a vibrant local entertainment hub
for the North Shore.
