Boomers, tell your story before it’s too late
Boomoirs.com is a new website aiming to provide snapshots of baby boomers’ lives through personal recollections and photographs.
Its intent is to become an eyewitness reference for that generation, a depot for baby boomers’personal recollections, reminisces, memories and memoirs.
New Zealand-based, Boomoirs.com is looking for stories and photos from baby boomers right across the world.
Says the website’s founder, Aucklander Erin Fogarty: “We think it’s most important that boomer memories are collected and made available for sharing with others from all generations and cultures. Boomers have experienced such massive change and witnessed some stunning historical events, but we want the day-to-day stories, too.
“We’re calling for stories and photo submissions from boomers from any stage of their life. Submissions can be any size, from a simple anecdote to a complete memoir .. and photos are very welcome.
“The oldest baby boomers are turning 62 this year and it is predicted that about 18 percent of them can look forward to developing some form of dementia such as Alzheimers. With that cheerful thought in mind, Boomoirs.com thinks it’s time to chronicle boomer stories before it's too late!”
The website is in pre-launch stage, though a blog is set up at www.boomoirs.com where anyone interested can submit stories, find information and read some Boomoir examples. Your submission could be a foundation Boomoir!
