On The Bus Auahi Kore Tour returns to the Far North
On The Bus, a collective of Contemporary National Māori Writers proudly supported by Auahi Kore (Smoke Free) on tour will return to the Far North from Monday 7th April to Friday 11th April 2008. The two National Art-Form committees of Toi Māori; Te Hā (Contemporary Māori Writers in English) and Ngā Pou Kaituhi Māori (Writers in Te Reo Māori) have collaborated together to make this Smoke Free tour product a success!
This will be their third visit to Te Tai Tokerau and is eagerly awaited by a keen audience enticed by poetic kōrero in Māori and English and book lovers of the writers’ latest works.
On The Bus will visit schools and communities in Kawakawa, Paihia, Kaikohe, Kerikeri, Moerewa and Whangarei, providing an entertaining programme of fun, thought provoking prose and compassionate selections from the writers’ works.
Story teller and writer Joe Harawira is accompanied on the tour by Apirana Taylor, Hinemoana Baker and Kelly Ana Morey.
All of these writers have published and given special performances of their latest works and are in high demand for touring overseas. Toi Māori are very proud to present such a stellar selection for 2008 for the ‘On The Bus’ Auahi KoreTour to the Far North.
