Playmarket Playwrights’ Studio 2008
Playmarket will be awarding playwrights with a place in Playwrights’ Studio 2008 in Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin and Christchurch. Playwrights’ Studio is an opportunity for writers to be guided through a rigorous re-writing process of their work, by a leading dramaturg, and have the opportunity to have their work presented in a professional theatre. Previous graduates include Elisabeth Easther, Simon O’Connor, Craig Thaine and Thomas Sainsbury.
Previous Dramaturgs include Renee, Fiona Samuel, Simon O’Connor and Gary Henderson. Deadline for applications is 19 February 2008. Studio commences April-May 2008 and finished November 2008. Playwrights’ Studio is open to all playwrights of excellence and preference will be given to playwrights who have not completed previous studios.
Application Process: Applications must be made in writing (by email or mail to scripts@playmarket.org.nz phone (04) 382 8462). Please send a letter outlining your experience as a playwright and a draft of a play you’d like to develop.
