Free Concerts at Viaduct Harbour Throughout Anniversary Weekend
Aquatica ’08 – Auckland’s Harbour Festival treats Aucklanders to a weekend of free entertainment
Aucklanders in town for the long weekend should head to the Viaduct Harbour for Aquatica ’08 – Auckland’s Harbour Festival, to make the most of the free entertainment on offer.
Throughout the weekend there will be a variety of free concerts happening in the Viaduct Harbour at Aquatica ’08 – from the Navy Band to the Ports of Auckland ‘Symphony on the Sea’ starring Elizabeth Marvelly, to the free Sunday night concert featuring iconic Kiwi band Hello Sailor, to English 60s pop band The Searchers.
The full, free concert line-up is below:
Saturday: The Navy Band at Te Wero Island, 4:00 - 4:45pm
Sunday: The Navy Band at Te Wero Island, 4:00- 4:45pm
Ivy Lies at Te Wero Island, 5pm
CVE at Te Wero Island, 7:30pm
Swing Cats at Te Wero Island, 8pm
Headline act Hello Sailor at Te Wero Island, 9:30
Monday: Jazz at Te Wero Island, 12:15 – 1pm
Ports of Auckland ‘Symphony on the Sea’ featuring rising Kiwi star, Elizabeth Marvelly, from 1- 2:30pm
Headline act The Searchers, currently touring New Zealand, at Te Wero Island from 3 – 4:30pm
Sunday night’s free concert will be followed by New Zealand’s largest display of fireworks at 10:30pm.
The Legends of Kiwi Rock concert on Saturday evening – starring OpShop, The Exponents and Th’ Dudes- is the only ticketed music event throughout the weekend. Tickets for this gig can be purchased at the event, or through Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.co.nz.
