Not So Passive
Almost 17 years ago Wellington band Shihad first made the NZ Top 40 Singles list with a 12" vinyl EP Devolve. It enjoyed a seven-week run, peaking at #16.
This week, fresh from last Friday's Big Day Out, they score their 22nd hit in the Singles Chart as One Will Hear The Other takes highest new entry honours at #35.
It is the first track from their late April release Beautiful Machine, certain to provide them with their eighth chart album here.
Their last hit single, Alive, hit #5 three years back and along with 1993's #3 I Only Said and 1999's #6 My Mind's Sedate make up their trio of Top 10ers to date.
One Will Hear The Other has proved to be a big airplay hit, with plenty of spins on both Rock and Pop radio. It currently sits at #14 on the RadioScope100 and is #1 on the RadioScope Rock Chart this week.

Once Upon A Movie
Once there was a little movie made in Dublin, Eire, on a small budget. It received great reviews and gained worldwide release, including New Zealand in the past few weeks.
Once stars Glen Hansard (from Irish band The Frames) and Marketa Irglova composed and performed the Grammy-nominated soundtrack.
And this week it becomes the sole new entry on the Albums list at #29.

The New Singles
It's steady as she goes on the Singles list as X Factor winner Leona Lewis holds steady atop both the Singles and RadioScope100 Airplay surveys. She may make it a triple crown with her Spirit debut set next week.

#38 OneRepublic - Stop And Stare
Ryan Tedder, Zach Filkins, Drew Brown, Eddie Fisher and Brent Kutzle follow their dual single and RadioScope100 #1 Apologize collaboration with a second cut lifted from their Dreaming Out Loud album.

The New Albums
OpShop's Second Hand Planet reaches three weeks in a row leading the Albums list making them one of 13 locals in this week’s Top40. It’s a close race however, as rocking Rod Stewart challenges for the top slot by gaining the highest placing yet for Story So Far: The Very Best Of, climbing to #2.
