trains for Police fans
On Saturday 19 January, Aucklanders heading to Western Springs to see The Police take to the stage can avoid parking hassles and hop on a MAXX bus or train.
Special return bus services between Britomart and Western Springs will be operating from 5pm to 8.30pm. Tickets cost $2 each way (cash only) and are available on the bus. No concessionary fares/passes will be accepted on these services.
Police fans living on the North Shore can catch a special bus service from Albany Park and Ride (Platform 3B), and Constellation Park and Ride (Platform 2) directly to Western Springs. Special buses will leave Albany at 6pm, 7pm and 7.30pm, and Constellation at approximately 6.05pm, 7.05pm and 7.35pm.
Special bus services directly to Western Springs will also leave Takapuna (Platform 1) at approximately 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets for the special bus services from the North Shore cost $5.00 each way (cash only) and are available on the bus. No concessionary fares/passes will be accepted.
The special buses depart Western Springs after the concert (when full) to the above locations.
A number of regular bus routes travel to Western Springs (via Great North Road) from Britomart stops D3 and D8 or from Lower Albert Street. Normal fares apply.
Frequent train services to Britomart will be operating from all stations on the network, with some additional late night train services after the concert finishes at approximately 11pm. On the Southern and Eastern Lines, an additional train will depart Britomart for Otahuhu (via Newmarket) at 11.30pm and for Otahuhu (via Glen Innes) at 12.20pm. On the Western Line, a train will depart Britomart for Waitakere at 11.45pm. Western Line passengers are advised that the usual Saturday bus replacements between Henderson and Waitakere remain in place.
Tickets are available on the train or at the Britomart Transport Centre and Papakura station. Normal fares apply.
Regular ferry services from Auckland to Devonport will be running until approximately 1.00am, and NiteRider buses will leave from the Civic Theatre and St James Theatre between 1am and 3am.
