Fanuary ball still rolling

Organiser Rebecca Harris from myjobspace.co.nz says “We have received a number of registrations, people entering the competition and supplying their photos to be judged, also people registering as supporters and making donations.”

A positive sign is that not one piece of junk or inappropriate material has been sent in, people are respecting the cause and what this campaign is trying to do - raise awareness and funds for women dealing with gynaecological cancers.

“It’s hard to tell at this stage the number of registrations, people are just getting back to work and back to having online access, as a result registrations are filtering in throughout each day. We won’t know the success of this fundraising venture until the competition closes at the end of January, all donations are received and entrants confirmed for judging”.

Rebecca is encouraging people to not only visit the fanuary.co.nz site but to get involved. “What we do know is that on average we’re currently experiencing more than 2,500 visitors and in excessive of 150,000 hits a day, this is a good sign that the ball has not stopped rolling; we just need to get these people involved and making donations.”

To keep the ball rolling and raise even more awareness organiser Rebecca Harris has announced “We’re promoting Friday 25th January as WEAR SOMETHING PINK DAY. We’re hoping this will help in the awareness and collecting online donations”.

Trustee Kim McCollock from Women for Women Charitable Trust is thrilled that people are talking about Fanuary and says “The reaction to Fanuary has been amazing. We have received lots of positive and negative comments but we are pleased with both reactions because it means one thing, people are talking about the appeal and this is raising awareness for the campaign which is what Fanuary is all about.”

“All donations received will be used for education, awareness and financial support for women dealing with gynecological cancers.”
