SKYCITY is proud to announce that New Zealand’s hottest new star, Will Martin, is set to dazzle the crowd at the 2008 SKYCITY Starlight Symphony.
Will’s debut album, “A New World”, has recently gone platinum in New Zealand and the twenty-three year old says he is delighted to be a special guest performer at one of the most popular events on the New Zealand calendar.
"SKYCITY Starlight Symphony is the perfect reason for me to come home to New Zealand and sing for the people who inspired me to follow my dream."
"It's been an incredible journey since the launch of my album and I'm honoured to be performing at the same concert as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa."
Other talented artists taking to the stage for SKYCITY Starlight Symphony include the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, NZ Opera Emerging and Resident Artists, the SKYCITY Massed Choir and three exceptional young instrumentalists - violinist Amalia Hall and pianists Hao Chen and John-Paul Muir.
The night will also feature crowd favourites such as the stunning SKYCITY fireworks, dramatic cannons and the Mercury Energy laser light show.
SKYCITY Auckland General Manager, David Christian, says the line up for the tenth anniversary of SKYCITY’s sponsorship of Starlight Symphony is outstanding.
“I encourage everyone to mark February 23, 2008 in their calendar as SKYCITY Starlight Symphony will be one event you will not want to miss.
“SKYCITY is also delighted to announce that TVNZ’s Mark Sainsbury and Wendy Petrie will MC the 2008 SKYCITY Starlight Symphony.”
"All funds raised at the 2008 SKYCITY Starlight Symphony will go to Kidz First, to help fund two beds specifically for children, at Middlemore Hospital's Intensive Care Unit."
