Barfoot & Thompson brings Christmas cheer to children in Whangarei Hospital
Real Estate company Barfoot & Thompson will today deliver more than a hundred Christmas gifts for children who end up in Whangarei Hospital on Christmas Day.
The Branch Managers from the company’s four Northland branches were so inspired by their recent visit to the hospital’s children’s ward for the launch of the Barfoot & Thompson Magic of Reading programme that they decided to hold a toy collection to help brighten Christmas Day for children unfortunate enough to have to spend it in hospital.
A total of 125 gifts have been collected including, games, dolls, and arts & craft supplies. The gifts are all beautifully wrapped and ready for distribution on Christmas Day.
Barfoot & Thompson Director, Peter Thompson, says the contribution from the company’s Northland offices and the communities in general is heart-warming and it’s a pleasure to be able to make a difference to the lives of children in hospital on such an important day of the year.
“Christmas is a special time for children. We hope the gifts help bring some of the joy and delight of Christmas to those in the children’s ward on Christmas Day.”
Last month, Barfoot & Thompson brought more magic to Whangarei Hospital when it arranged for rugby hero Keven Mealamu for a visit to the children’s ward for the launch of the Magic of Reading programme. Magic of Reading is a Barfoot & Thompson sponsored initiative which sees children who are admitted to hospital for a night or more receive a brand new book to help entertain them and to take home.
