NZ Music Industry Info Bulletin - 17 Dec 2007
NZ Music Industry Info Bulletin
This will be the last bulletin until probably mid-late Jan. As it turns out I am very excited to be moving to Whangarei to take up the position running the Arts Promotion Trust in Northland (www.apt.org.nz) starting on 3 January. The organisation has been set up to develop the creative industries in Northland.
One of the immediate items on my agenda is to get Northland on the touring circuit. So expect to hear from me soon about that. In the meantime, if you are busy organising your tour before I’m in touch, please feel free to flick me an email and I may be able to assist.
It is also looking possible I will be working on a music industry project in Auckland – more about that as information comes to hand.
Please feel free to forward on and/or reprint part or all of the newsletter with a credit to Temple NZ Music Industry Info Bulletin www.temple.co.nz. Back issues are at www.temple.co.nz
If you have anything you would like included in the newsletter next year (FREE!), please flick me an email. I don’t include gig listings, sorry, unless it involves an “opportunity” eg open mics

Canon BJC6000. Old and has so seen better days, but still working no probs. Plus it has a very interesting Temple history. I also probably can find the manual for it as well
I’m only ditching it because it doesn’t have a USB connection, so doesn’t work with my new computer.
The red cartridge has run out, but the others are all about ½ full.
Will need to be picked up from Devonport sometime before xmas.
Flick me an email if you want it

OLIGARCHY
Aggressive Blues Rock
We pay $40 to drum each practice.
Auckland hard rock band are looking for a talented vocalist with song writing ability. Successful single and video release with second single recording and video shoot beginning of next year. Professional band management and label offer from overseas.
You need to be a fun loving but committed person aged 20-28. Music influences: Foo Fighters, Tool, Sevendust, Crowded House, Van Halen, Shihad, Opshop.
We would love to hear from you.
Wanted!! Lead Vocalist, Bass Player & Guitarist Wanted to join Guitarist and Drummer in joining us form a Hard Rock / Rock n Roll 'originals' band with big hooks, mean solo's, anthemic chorus's.
We feel that NZ music is in a sad state with barely any decent rockin' bands that play good Rock N Roll / hard Rock. Everything seems like Metal / Hardcore / Punk / Emo / Indie etc, and not enough balls to the wall ROCK. Its a sad state pretty much and we hope to do something about it...
We also both play in an 80s Rock 'tribute' / covers band 'Maskara' - which plays the likes of Skid Row, The Cult, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Kiss, Guns n Roses, Cinderella, Alice Cooper - all of which we love and are inspired by.
We do love the Straight-ahead hard rock elements from the late 80's to 90's rock, but also want to modernise that sound and jam up our own vibe as well as a bit of Stoner Rock and the Blues thrown in the mix...
We love the above bands, as well as bands like Motorhead, Silvertide, Wednesday 13, Airbourne, Fu Manchu, Nashville Pussy etc....
Must be in your 20's , have good gear, has transport, committed, experienced, professional , and easy to be in a band with! Along with being reliable and dependable - as alot of musicians are'nt!
Mostly practice Sundays, and Thursday / Wednesday nights. Based out Pakuranga way.
For more information or if you want to jam, email us on Info(at)maskara.co.nz
