Paper Plus Group Asks Kiwis to Support Kiwi Kids
this Christmas
Kiwis have the opportunity to become a
shining star for charity this festive season by supporting
the Paper Plus Group’s nationwide fundraising bid for Cure
Kids. Shoppers at Paper Plus and Take Note stores can help
bring Christmas cheer to seriously ill Kiwi children by
buying a cute, cuddly collectable soft toy when they pop in
to pick up a card, book or stationery item, with $1 from
each sale of Shining Stars® at Paper Plus stores, and
caring critters Boots and Butterscotch soft toys at Take
Note stores, going towards a goal of $40,000.
Cure Kids is the face of the Child Health Research Foundation, which has invested more than $13 million in medical research into life-threatening childhood illnesses in New Zealand since it was founded three decades ago.
Fittingly for the partnership, the cuddly collectables have been designed to appeal to children; the range of Shining Stars® includes bears, frogs and owls, while Boots and Butterscotch are a cat-and-dog team.
There are 24 Shining Stars® for shoppers to choose from. The new owner can log on to the Shining Stars® website and, using the secret code that comes with each Star, register and name their own star with the International Star Registry®.
Cure Kids Business Development Director Mandy Mee said the charity was delighted to be working with the Paper Plus Group, with the company’s support giving a valuable boost to Cure Kids’ research projects. “This research helps save hundreds of childrens’ lives and improved the quality of life for thousands more, and we are excited to have the Paper Plus Group supporting this ongoing work.”
Lyle Hastings, Marketing Manager for the Paper Plus Group, said the partnership with Cure Kids was an ideal fit for his company. “At this time of year, people are looking for opportunities to both tick off their list of presents to buy, and do something charitable that’s in the spirit of Christmas. We are pleased to be able to offer this to our customers throughout the country, while giving our backing to work that helps so many children and their families.”
