Merry Christmas 1981 - A film by Ronnie van Hout

The final New Zealand Film Archive exhibition for the year is Ronnie van Hout's Merry Christmas 1981. Shot on colour Super 8 the film features van Hout and friends celebrating Christmas with an elaborate feast and plenty of good wishes.

Ronnie van Hout attended the School of Fine Arts at Canterbury University between 1980 and 1982, where he majored in film. In 1999 in received a Masters of Fine Arts from RMIT University, Melbourne and has since gone to achieve international recognition for his art practise.

At this point we'd like to thank all the artists, supporters and friends who have taken part in the gallery programme this year.

2008 promises the return of the Artists Film Festival, Icelandic video, singing plants and new work by Sarah Jane Parton and Nova Paul. And if you really love us you can vote for the NZFA as Wgtn's Top Cultural Venue at http://www.wellingtonista.com/. Voting closes tonight at midnight.
