1 - CASH GUITAR & THE SILVER DOLLARS, THE FUTURIANS & THE HAUNTED TURNIES BRING IT ON HOME TO ONEFEST SERIES PART SIX

Surf’s Up in Dunedin! Shed a salty excited tear right now. It is with great pride that Radio One announces Onefest Series Part Six.

Cash Guitar (Chris Heazlewood) and the Silver Dollars, The Futurians
& the Haunted Turnies Crew. Friday 14th December at the Crown Hotel.
Free w/ your ANZ Onecard, $10 Doorsales.

Probably best known as the founding member & guitarist of seminal nz psy surf outfit KING LOSER of the Flying Nun fold, Chris Heazlewood (a.k.a Cash Guitar) is one guy that knows how to slap your cerebral outright with his flame handed six stringed skills. Come December the 14th the Crown Hotel is headed for a Sonic super-free hi-fi party. Heazlewood & his hand picked Dunedin band of musical geniuses - The Silver Dollars, send the Onefest off in true summer wipeout styles.

Birthed from the primordial ooze of sludge-rock circa 2000, The Futurians are walls of retro-futurist space invaders stomping through the doors of perception at full noise, drilling at the cerebral cortex again and again with shuddering stripped back drone and raspy guitars wrapped firmly around the jugular. With at least 40 albums to their name on labels like Invisible Generation (US), Soft Abuse (US), Imvated (Belgium) and 267 Lattajja (Finland), this is the first time The Futurians have returned from their solo space odyssey’s to play a gig in Dunedin for the first time in more than two years, and who knows when you'll get to see their ugly faces on stage again cos they sure as hell don't. Stevie Kaye said they were the most important band to come out of Dunedin in ten years, but don't take your advice from some spotty hipster, come get your face melted with The Futurians in the flesh.

The Haunted Turnies will be keeping it mashed, smashed & psychedelic in the breaks with their eclectic freak funk flying digit waxical attack. Sunglasses are advised.
