ARTWORK STOLEN from Sandwiches
ARTWORK STOLEN from Sandwiches
This fine piece of artwork (see attached) is part of a series entitled “Eye Candy” and was skilfully hand painted by resident Wellington artist, Brad Williams aka “Slope”. It was one of a number of canvases recently exhibited within the music venue Sandwiches.
IT WAS STOLEN during daytime hours on the 31st of October!!!
Brad has been exhibiting his artwork throughout New Zealand for the last decade, and many fine Wellington galleries, cafes and bars since 2001. He is one of the most renowned artists showcased annually at the Affordable Art Show where his pieces sell for thousands of NZdollars (this particular piece was priced at $3,000.00NZ), and his works are hung in public galleries and private residences in New York, London and of course Australasia.
The Wellington Police and local galleries are on the look out for this recognisable piece of art.
Brad, and we here at Sandwiches are hopeful someone may have seen the theft taking place - it’s a hard item to hide walking around in the Mt Victoria/Te Aro area in daylight. Likewise, if someone spots the canvas in a residence/premise or attempting to be sold (for example online), they have the moral fortitude to make this known to us or the authorities.
If you have any queries or questions please contact Sandwiches on 385 7698 or info[at]sandwiches.co.nz.
Thank you.
