A Bush Party

A Bush Party
Music Mountain Matakana, in association with The Drop, is pleased to announce a bush party starring Fat Freddy’s Drop and special guests.
Nestled in pristine native bush, MMM is a relatively new boutique venue located a little over one hours drive north of Auckland. The very organic, very cool and laid back set up was enough to entice Freddy’s away from recording schedule commitments to party in the bush in February 2008.
Established by Nigel Rowthorn, New Zealand’s original roadie and sound engineer, and Brett Lewis, a builder by trade and music fan by nature, MMM features a purpose built stage and state of art sound and lighting in the heart of Matakana country.
A Bush party will be an event to cherish, one of only three shows licensed for MMM in 2008, and a rare live appearance by Freddy’s north of the Bombay Hills this summer.
Freddy’s are at the halfway mark recording their second album, and the bush party is sure to offer a sneak preview of the subtle differences ahead, maybe a little less dub and reggae and a bit more soul, country and blues, but again with the essential electronic fusion.
Joining Freddy’s for the bush party will be FLOWZ & The Usos. After a decade of adding gristle and backbone to the Aotearoa hip hop scene, Lyall Bay MC FLOWZ is stepping up with a live band and fresh grooves. On the decks at the bush party will be DJ’s Mu, Slave, Cian and introducing live and direct from Australia, DJ Thief.
