Complexions Contemporary Ballet makes its New Zealand debut
with a gala programme of impassioned dance in Auckland in
December.
THE EDGE® International Arts Season and CAMI present Complexions Contemporary Ballet at the ASB Theatre, Aotea Centre, THE EDGE®, Auckland from December 5-9 for a strictly limited season of five performances only.
Founded by former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre stars Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson and based in New York, Complexions Contemporary Ballet brings together 20 of the finest dancers merging their mix of experiences, culture, race and backgrounds to present excellence in dance.

Complexions draws on a huge range of influences - film, photography, television, fashion, poetry, theatre, urban street dance and pop culture - and fuses cutting-edge choreography with the music of Jimi Hendrix, Prince, the Gershwins, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone and Beethoven.

Since its inception, the company has received numerous accolades including the coveted New York Times "Critics Choice" Award. The company has toured nationally and internationally and performed at all major European dance festivals including Italy's Festival of Dance for four consecutive years, the Isle De Dance Festival in Paris, the Maison De La Dance Festival in Lyon, the Holland Dance Festival, Steps International Dance Festival in Switzerland, the Dance Festival of Canary Islands, Spain, Vail International Dance Festival, Aspen International Dance Festival and Le Festival des Arts de St-Sauveur in Canada.
