Acclaimed Darwin Exhibition Free This Saturday

Everyone has the chance to experience the extraordinary work of Charles Darwin on Saturday November 3 when Newstalk ZB offer FREE entry to this popular Exhibition.

In its second successful month the Darwin exhibition continues to draw audiences to the Auckland Museum. The comprehensive collection of artifacts, manuscripts and specimens on show has sparked the imaginations of adults and children alike with its eclectic display of objects and experiences.

Surprise treats include New Zealand’s own ‘A-list’ celebrity frog (otherwise seen in Power ranges and high profile reptilian photo shoots) in the live animal enclosure along with Bruce the bearded lizard. The impressive exhibition also includes colourful and detailed re-creations of the environments and creatures Darwin witnessed in his travels, from vermilion flycatchers and frigate birds to the amazing daisy tree.

The Darwin exhibition offers an interactive experience for all; visitors are even encouraged to touch specimens—such as the impressive reproduction of a giant glyptodont skeleton (a prehistoric armored mammal). To further bring the exhibition to life actors take on the character of Charles Darwin, interacting with audiences and recreating moments from his incredible life. These vignettes play every 30 minutes.
