New Zealand schoolgirl Elizabeth Marvelly has been chosen to perform for Hollywood superstars during a glittering gala in Hong Kong in December.
The Rotorua teen will sing for 15 minutes at the premiere of Nicole Kidman's latest blockbuster The Golden Compass on December 16 -- a dazzling event organised by "jeweller to the stars" Michelle Ong with her biggest fans Glen Close, Kate Winslett and Jennifer Garner having been invited. Kidman and co-star Daniel Craig (James Bond, Casino Royale; Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) are on the guest list too.
The Golden Compass will introduce a new young star Dakota Blue Richards who has confirmed her attendance as has actress Eva Green (Casino Royale).
Elizabeth will be one of two artists who will perform live music at this amazing high profile event.
It is a dinner for approximately 400 influential people and it will take place in the atrium of the CyberPot which will be theatrically dressed and themed to look similar to the film. It is sponsored by Dior and the food will be provided by the Grand Hyatt.

Elizabeth, 18, will sing songs from her self-titled album which is due in stores in New Zealand on December 3 then released internationally thereafter as one of EMI London's brightest signings for 2008. Her pop-classical album is being produced by New Zealand music veteran Carl Doy, recently celebrated as the maestro behind Dancing with the Stars stunning musical direction.
She is known to have spent time with Nicole Kidman's husband Keith Urban's manager Rob Potts during his recent visit to New Zealand and will be looking forward to meeting the stars in person.
"I am very excited about being asked to perform," says the teenager heralded as the next big thing to emerge from Gray Bartlett's stable of stars. Previous discoveries have included Hayley Westenra, Annabel Fay and Yulia Townsend.
The Michelle Ong event has become an event that A-lister stars have circled on the calendars -- an event that showcases her exquisite jewellery and raises money for a charity. This year it benefits the Girl Guides Association.
Elizabeth was personally chosen for the event after EMI London sent her material to Michelle Ong for consideration. Not only were they excited by her sound, but impressed by her drop-dead gorgeous looks. "She was just what they were looking for," says Bartlett. "She's glamorous with the voice of an angel. She's the complete package."
Following her performance in Hong Kong, Elizabeth will jet off to Australia to sing at Carols by Candlelight -- one of Australia's biggest annual events with an audience number in its millions.
