Dancing with the Stars winner Aaron Gilmore running special dance workshop
Dancing with
the Stars winner Aaron Gilmore will hold a special jive
dance workshop in Christchurch this week.
Gilmore won the 2006 recent television series with celebrity former Miss World Lorraine Downes and was in the top four with Greer Robson this year.
The Christchurch fulltime dancer and father of two has been dancing for 20 years and has a long list of titles and achievements.
He has represented New Zealand in Australia and England and was among the top 24 in the world at a dance event in Blackpool, England, several years ago.
``I used to go to St Bedes College and the
guys wondered about me but then in the fifth and sixth form,
they realised I got it right. They were pushing with other
guys in the scrums and I was dancing with beautiful
girls,’’ Gilmore said.
``Since Dancing with the
Stars finished I have had the chance to do a lot of new and
exciting things and I am looking forward to the workshop at
the old Hoon Hay Club
on Thursday.’’
Gilmore said dancing with and getting to know Lorraine Downes was a great memory.
He expects to be back with Dancing with the Stars next year and is planning a major dance event in Christchurch around Valentine’s Day weekend.
