Lotto Winners Celebrate
Daylight saving started early this year and for two Lotto players in Wainuiomata and Wellington their bank savings will get a big boost after winning $500,000 each on Lotto First Division, says NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.
"Our winners have two reasons to celebrate tomorrow with a great First Division prize and an extra hour of daylight to enjoy," says Mr McLeay.
The winning tickets were purchased at Wainuiomata Mall Lotto Shop in Wainuiomata and Whitcoulls Lambton Quay in Wellington.
Powerball has jackpotted and will be worth an estimated $5 million in next week's draw.
A Strike Four prize of $249,070 was won tonight by a ticket bought at PAK'n'SAVE Kilbirnie in Wellington.
Tonight's other big winner was Hussein Lalani, from Auckland, who spun Lotto's Winning Wheel and won a Jaguar XK car.
Hussein travelled to Wellington with his wife Farheen and daughter Rhea and enjoyed a luxury weekend staying at the Duxton Hotel, a shopping trip with a stylist, and lunch with Lotto presenter, Hilary Timmins.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.
Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by Timaru New World in Timaru. The serial number is 752-04744963-20XX
"Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any NZ Lotteries' outlet," Mr McLeay says.
