Veteran campaigner receives inaugural award at Every Child Counts conference
Veteran campaigner receives inaugural award from Every Child Counts Wellington woman and veteran campaigner Beth Wood received the inaugural He Mana tō ia Tamaiti/ Every Child Counts individual award at a special ceremony today.
The Every Child Counts awards are presented to an individual and an institution which have made a significant contribution in the past year to improving the status and well-being of children.
"The presentation of this award highlights the important work Beth Wood has done in the interests of children. It acknowledges the difference dedicated individuals can make to the lives of children, and also encourages others to make a commitment to improving the status of children," said Dennis McKinlay of the Every Child Counts Steering Group.
"We have selected Beth as a recipient for this year's award because of her tireless work for children. It's great to have the opportunity to publicly acknowledge and thank her for her energetic advocacy for children."
