NZ first to be Auctioned off tonight
Collaborative Project "PatchWorks" which was unveiled this month at the NZ Art Guilds Annual Art Exhibition by North Shore City Mayor George Wood, will be sold tonight by auction on TradeMe.
Another NZ first for the NZAG, 66 artists combined to create 88 individual paintings which was then united into one huge stunning patchwork wall hanging. PatchWorks was very well received by the public on opening night and it is attracting a lot of attention with people travelling from all over NZ to see it.
Sewn together in a coloured pattern, the result is a uniquely original single artwork, in the form of patchwork quilt. Inspired by the word “Soul”, each artwork is a slice of imagination from the souls of each of the artists. Believed to the the first of its kind in NZ, this piece is a slice of what art in NZ is about today, and is most definitely a collectors item.
The TradeMe auction is due to close at 8pm tonight, 28th August. It is still on display at the Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna, Auckland until midday tomorrow.
