Jeff Young Returns To NZ For One-Off Auckland Show


Renowned Los Angeles singer-songwriter Jeff Young returns to New Zealand to perform a one-off Auckland show in September.

Jeff Young is a highly regarded international session musician, and artist in his own right, having released four solo albums to date, the most recent being 2006’s Songs From A Red Wurlitzer.
 
With a rich musical history, Young brings his experiences with some of the world’s most celebrated recording artists to his diverse and eclectic recordings. Having performed in a variety of musical settings throughout his career, his soulful rhythms and melodies create an environment as unique as the music itself... original and organic, eclectic and electrifying. Young crosses the divides to bring together the ultimate symbiosis of soul, reggae, blues, R&B, and world rhythms to, create a style truly all of his own.
 
A world renowned keyboardist and vocalist, Young has performed and recorded with Sting, Jackson Browne, Al Green, Bonnie Raitt, Alanis Morrissette, Tracey Chapman, Bruce Springsteen, Randy Crawford, Keb Mo, Donna Summer and Shawn Colvin, just to name a few.
 
Young will also perform in the band for Steely Dan’s sold out New Zealand shows in September. The backing band for his own show will consist of Keith Carlock, Freddie Washington, and Jon Herington - the Steely Dan band rhythm section.
 
Young, who has a strong connection to New Zealand, having married a Kiwi was last here to play a sold out show in 2005. He will be supported by talented Kiwi singer-songwriter Jackie Bristow, who has recently returned to New Zealand for the release of her new album Crazy Love.
