Jigsaws Galore at Bookfair!

Downtown Community Ministry

15 August 2007

Jigsaws Galore!

Jigsaw enthusiasts are in for a treat at this year’s Bookfair where nearly five hundred puzzles are expected to be put on sale.

The number of jigsaws was boosted today after a single donation from a generous Wellington man who dropped off 102 jigsaw puzzles into the DCM offices.

The donation included Waddington, Holdson and others with diverse scenes such as steam trains, English castles, Auckland city and some Where’s Wally type children’s puzzles. While most puzzles had 1000 pieces some had up to 2000.
The generous donor said he had collected the puzzles for some time and especially wanted them to go to the Bookfair.

Bookfair organiser David Cross says, “We’re very appreciative of the donation and staggered by the amount. We know they’ll be a big hit at the Bookfair.”
The DCM van ends all private collections this week and will recover all wheeli bins placed throughout the city next week.

“We’re now placing our attention on the fair. It’s going to be huge and we’re really looking forward to it.”

The DCM Bookfair is on the 1st and 2nd of September at the TSB Bank Arena.
