BODYPAINTING, Imagine a painter who can create an image from an idea in the fullness of colour, design and expression
and then imagine this artist asking their canvas to sing, dance or scream.
This year for the first time in Australia in the middle of the World famous Eumundi Markets Australia’s most colourful
event will take place. The Australian Body Art Carnivale is a get together of body-artists, face-painters, traditional
artists, photographers and sculptors from all over the world competing to win fabulous prizes.
The Carnivale will become a gallery for artists from all mediums to exhibit their work. You will see bodies painted with
many different materials and techniques, and sometimes combined with the most fantastic costumes, masks and show
effects.
The Carnivale starts with the opening of the “Art of the Body” exhibition and competition on Friday the 24th August at
6pm. See artists and sculptors showcasing their work of the human body. There will be “Live” art classes throughout the
weekend and all art will be available for sale.
Become involved with the facepainting competition at the Eumundi Markets on the Saturday and avail yourself of all the
fantastic bodyart products on display. The official opening and award ceremony for the face-painting competition will
occur at 1pm. The opening will be accompanied by dancing, bands and there will be a jam tent available for watching the
artists work and create.
Invigorate your minds from 10am on the ticketed day of the event. Learn the art of body painting, special effects and
more as you wander the event and watch the artists transforming bodies into masterpieces of creation. Listen to bands,
watch street entertainment, eat magnificent food and enjoy a cold beverage. The event is a licensed venue. As the day
fades into night Judging for the artists will take place and the artists will be paraded on the main stage where there
will be a spectacular show of colour sound and entertainment. Finishing at 7.30 pm the event will be one not to be
missed.
