Pitch a Show Idle off to Rollicking Start

AUCKLAND, NZ, Thursday, 26 July - The search to find Alt TV's next presenter extraordinaire got off to a rollicking start last weekend, with more than 25 fearless hopefuls fronting up to Alt TV's K'Rd studios for a live-to-air audition.

Hosted by Alt TV's Thane Kirby and Martyn Bomber Bradbury, Pitch a Show Idle gives budding music television presenters the chance to audition live on air as Alt TV tries to find a replacement for Lucy Hunt.

Bomber says: "Alt TV needs a new presenter so we are opening our doors for one hour at midday each Saturday and Sunday for the next month. So far, a beige-loving, 40-year-old virgin who works in IT is in the lead (bless), so come on New Zealand - where the bloody hell are ya?"

Alt TV audiences have the opportunity to vote with their thumbs (txt) and a final decision will be made based on viewer and Alt TV management's opinions.

The Pitch a Show Idle grand final is scheduled for 12pm, Sunday 12 August and the winner(s) will be announced by Craig and Rebecca on The Residents at 7pm, Monday 13 August.

Live open auditions started at 12 noon on Saturday 21 July and will run every Saturday and Sunday until August 12. Alt TV studios are located at 171 K'rd next to Verona Cafe, come in and show us your shtick!
