Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2007 – Lights, Camera, Action!
With all eyes fixed on the Designers who make Air New Zealand Fashion week the iconic fashionista that it is – the stage is set for Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2007.
The seventh annual Air New Zealand Fashion Week will see the up-and-comers and crème de la crème of New Zealand Designer Fashion pulling out all the stops over four days to turn every fashionable head in the room with their vision and direction for the upcoming winter season.
At a media launch this afternoon (24th July), Air New Zealand Fashion Week Managing Director Pieter Stewart announced the 2007 Designers who will stamp their creative footprint on the local and global fashion industry with their Winter 2008 collections at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour Marine Village from 16-22nd September 2007.
From longstanding Air New Zealand Fashion Week icons Hailwood, Karen Walker, Carlson, Kate Sylvester, ZAMBESI and Trelise Cooper to the fresh talents of newcomers Chelsea Thorpe, Lonely Hearts Club, Elusiv, Salasai and Love Lies Bleeding – Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2007 is enveloped by the significant creative successes of fashion forward Kiwi Designers.
“Air New Zealand Fashion Week provides a great forum for New Zealand designers, an excellent opportunity for the industry to work together, a strong source of employment and a forum for creative people to cluster around other creative people,” says Stewart.
“It encourages investment in the sector and other creative sectors and generates substantial and ongoing returns,” she says.

has created many off-shoot industries developed through Air New Zealand Fashion Week itself. This extends to the creation of fashion-focused media that promote the industry year-round.”
Worth an estimated $23.2million to the New Zealand economy and $19.2million to the Auckland economy, Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2007 will feature approximately 60 Designers and 36 individual shows, along with the AUT Rookie Show and Verge Breakthrough Designers.
Fashion lovers will be delighted to hear that uber-popular Air New Zealand Fashion Week Public Day Air New Zealand Fashion Week 4 U will open its doors for two days for the 2007 season of fashion.
Building on the success of ANZFW 4U in 2006 with over 4000 people attending, Air New Zealand Fashion Week 4 U 2007 will offer a greatly expanded schedule of exciting events set to take place on Friday 21st September and Saturday 22nd September.
New zones at Air New Zealand Fashion Week 4 U will include a Beauty Zone populated by an exclusive selection of makeup brands, along with a Rumpus Room offering interactive activities.
Also new to Air New Zealand Fashion Week 4 U 2007 is 40 Season Preview Shows for Designers not showing at Air New Zealand Fashion Week. Big names rumoured to be showing include Ruby, Sabine and Taylor and other popular retail brands from the High Street.
Other key highlights of Air New Zealand Fashion Week 4 U 2007 include the Designer Selection Shows, which comprise a selection of garments from in-season collections as well as a sneak preview of what will be hitting the stores for Winter 2008.
The much-anticipated Air New Zealand Fashion Week 4 U Designer Garage Sale will also take place this year at a bigger and better venue with access made open to anyone who visits Air New Zealand Fashion Week 4 U.
Fashion Plate will resume its place as the hottest restaurant in town for the duration of Air New Zealand Fashion Week. Seating up to 140 patrons, Fashion Plate will be open throughout Air New Zealand Fashion Week and will offer live music every night. Alongside Fashion Plate restaurant will be The Cutting Room – a stylish bar with the latest music DJ’d by the country’s finest mixers.
