Big Moment for NZ Cancer Society

A massive online charity auction to support the Cancer Society has gone live today on Trade Me and is already exciting interested bidders watching over 300 auction items as part of the NZ House & Garden Moments of Tranquillity fundraising campaign.

People can bid for everything from a baby grand piano, Liz Mitchell and Trelise Cooper apparel, a four poster bed, jewellery, fabulous homeware and furnishings, a garden consultation withMucking In designer Tony Murrell, tickets to Cinderella, dinner for two at the French Café, 10 dozen Clevedon Coast oysters and even a weekend escape to a DOC hut on the Nelson Lakes.

The items all feature in six stunning Moments of Tranquillity created by top kiwi designers in the August issue ofNZ House & Garden on sale today (Monday 23 July). Former Changing Rooms and Hot Property designer Neil McLachlan, Mucking In designer Tony Murrell, NZ House & Garden editorial director Michal McKay, world-renowned set designer Tracy Grant Lord, artist and NZ House & Garden stylist Victoria Bell and interior designer Paula McIntosh, have all created their own scenes of tranquillity to soothe and nurture the soul.

Over 300 donated items from the NZ House and Garden Moments of Tranquillity feature will be auctioned on Trade Me from 23 July to 6 August to raise funds for the Cancer Society, making it one of the biggest online charity auctions to take place on Trade Me.

The campaign auction via Trade Me promises to bring a major financial boost to the Cancer Society. Cancer Society chief executive Dalton Kelly says all funds raised will contribute to the annual Daffodil Day appeal.

The auction is now live on Trade Me and will run for two weeks until 6 August. To bid on the items or view the auction schedule visit www.trademe.co.nz/nzhgmoments .
