Library hosts book launch for The boy who bounced around
Aotearoa
Botany Library is delighted to host the launch of local author Christine Hurst’s fun children’s picture book, ‘The boy who bounced around Aotearoa’.
The book, illustrated by Raymond McGrath, records the adventures of Zac, a boy who loves to bounce His mother tells him not to bounce. Before long Zac is bouncing around New Zealand, not just little bounces, big bounces, from Stewart Island where he dines with some hoiho (yellow-eyed penguins), to the Auckland Harbour Bridge where he meets a humungous family of taraunga (seagulls), to the banks of the Wanganui River where he makes friends with some wary pukeko.
But what place do all little boys want to visit? Outer Space! Zac zooms in and out until he hears his mum’s voice and wakes up in bed.
Media are invited to attend the launch at Botany Library on Sunday, 29 July at 1.30pm. Christine will read her book and is happy to answer any questions.
