Marlborough's Most Exclusive Weekend
* 300 wine lovers, 189 wines, 36 wineries, 4 live acts, 3 valleys, 2 lunches, 2 celebrity chefs, 2 gourmet dinners, and a cruise with brunch!
* Limited tickets have now gone on sale for this new exclusive event which will be held in Marlborough from the 26th to 28th October, 2007.
Spread over three days in various beautiful locations around Marlborough, the Marlborough Wine Weekend comprises a host of educational and enjoyable events including sub-regional tastings in the various Marlborough valleys, a gourmet gala dinner with beautifully matched Marlborough wines, a "Supper Club" dinner with live jazz and the opportunity to chat to winemakers in a relaxed environment, and a programme of great entertainment from some top local performers.
Speakers and panellists include Ralph Kyte-Powell, Bob Campbell MW, Stephen Bennett MW, Larry McKenna, Peter McCombie MW, Brian Bicknell and Jeff Clarke.
But it is not all serious education. In the evenings, entertainment will be provided by Sarah Brown, Twinset and Little T, and delicious cuisine will be cooked up by Wellingtonian Martin Bosley and Marlborough's own farmers' market guru Chris Fortune.
"I just can't believe the programme we've got lined up" says Wine Marlborough's Marketing Manager, Tom Trolove. "We've been tossing around the idea of a prestigious event to highlight Marlborough's great wines for some time now, but if you'd asked me six months ago, I would never have believed we could cram such an exciting schedule into just three days."
Wine Marlborough Chairman Blair Gibbs, agrees: "This is going to be a fantastic event which will appeal to wine loving consumers and the wine trade alike, and will really highlight the best of Marlborough and its wines. If you wanted to experience some of New Zealand's gastronomic and vinous highlights you couldn't find a better place to start than with this event."
