NZ Age Group Netball Champs Start Today, Hamilton

NZ Age Group Netball Championships start today in Hamilton

28 Regional U19 and U21 teams gather in Hamilton this week to represent their regions in the New Zealand Age Group Netball Championships.

Minogue Park will host 400 players, coaches and officials with 116 games played during the week, with up to six games being played at any one time. The competition is made up of 19 Under 19 and nine Under 21 regionally based teams.

Netball New Zealand Game Development Manager Kate Agnew says the New Zealand Age Group Championships is a key event in the Netball New Zealand Calendar for young players.

"The Age Group Championships is a very competitive tournament with U19 and U21 players giving their best for their region, but also hoping to catch the eye of the National Selectors," she said.

The competition runs Monday 2 July to Friday 6 July, with play beginning from 8:45am. The full draw is available at www.netballnz.co.nz. Results will be emailed to Netball New Zealand's results list daily at the conclusion of play, and posted on the Netball New Zealand website as soon as possible after the conclusion of each game.
