FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Craft market to benefit The Lonely Miaow

Auckland, New Zealand – June 13, 2007 - Three crafters who are unashamed cat people have wanted to do something to benefit stray/abused/feral cats for a while and have organised an art and craft market to benefit The Lonely Miaow.

The Lonely Miaow Association is an incorporated non profit organization dedicated to the rescue and care of stray and abandoned cats and kittens in the greater Auckland area.

The market is on June 30th at the Eden Activity Centre on Dominion Road, Auckland, from 12-3pm. Food and drink will be sold, along with a raffle held (with pieces donated by vendors) – the profits of which will be donated to the charity. The Lonely Miaow will also have a presence at the market to provide information on their work.

There will be a children's area with books and toys, where a caregiver can sit and have a drink or something to eat if they wish, while their child is entertained, perhaps giving the other caregiver a chance to peruse the fabulous crafts that will be on offer.

Visitors to the market will find a great variety of quality art and crafts, all hand made in New Zealand by some talented people. The aim of this event was not only to do something for charity, but to do something a little different to the usual craft event, to provide a place where younger artisans can showcase their wares, and most of all to create a fun day for vendors and visitors alike!
