Disneyworld Comes To Wellington

Unique opportunity for New Zealand wine industry to learn from
international wine experts

All in the New Zealand wine business have the opportunity to learn from the world’s most respected wine experts this July at the fourth New Zealand Wine Exports’ Forum in Wellington.

The Forum, presented by New Zealand Winegrowers, will run from July 30 – August 1 and is the ideal opportunity for wineries, wine exporters and those involved or planning on entering the wine export market to gain ideas, insights and inspiration from prominent international experts.

New Zealand Winegrowers Global Marketing Director, Chris Yorke, believes this is a unique opportunity not to be missed.

“The Forum will hear from some of the most respected wine business experts from across the globe. The practical workshops, such as planning for growth and a global restaurateur panel discussion, will give New Zealand wineries invaluable insights in hands-on sessions,” says Mr Yorke.

This year’s speaker line-up boasts a range of international wine experts from North America, Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe. Speakers include John Blazon of Disneyworld Florida who will discuss the US restaurant market and the key opportunities for New Zealand wine.

Australian highlight, Jeremy Stockman, senior business manager of Australia’s fine wine specialists, Vintage Cellars, will look into the changing landscape of distribution and retail channels in Australia.

Dean Di Maulo, director of purchasing for the Societe des alcools du Quebec (SAQ), which is the monopoly in Canada responsible for the distribution of alcoholic beverages in Quebec, will give insight into the SAQ distribution system and how New Zealand can gain entry into this lucrative market while Samantha Caporn, wine purchaser for direct mail company, Direct Wines UK will give an update on the United Kingdom and the direct mail market.

The forum is designed to educate all levels of wine exporters and includes a seminar on First Steps to Exporting for those not yet exporting, but who are planning to. All seminars will focus on trends in the global premium wine market and trade markets in New Zealand’s key export markets: the United Kingdom, The United States, Australia, Asia, Europe and Canada.

There will also be an extensive tasting seminar, with the opportunity to taste and explore trends in exciting and exciting emerging wine styles.
