Critically acclaimed and award-winning works from
celebrated filmmakers from throughout the world feature in
Maori Television’s International Documentary slot,
Pakipumeka o te Ao, every Tuesday at 8.30 PM.
Screening free-to-air in New Zealand for the first time, the hour-long programmes present unique and contemporary themes with a focus on people and popular culture.
The documentaries come from countries all over the world and cover a wide range of fascinating topics including war, civilization, indigenous rights, ancient history, language, nature, isolation and religion.

CHILDREN OF THE CLOUD – Tuesday May 1 at 8.30 PM: The descendants of the legendary Almorabid warriors still lead their herds of camels around the Sahara, practicing their own particular customs, folklore and culture.
DOUBTING THOMAS – Tuesday May 8 at 8.30 PM:
This is the story of Thomas Kuya, a Maasai warrior brought
up in northern Tanzania. Thomas is about to go through a
sacred ceremony marking his transition to tribal elder along

who get together in Quebec to train and ultimately stage a
live circus performance. Their challenge, however, is
unusual. They come from different countries, speak several
languages and have only three weeks to pull it
