Festival Of Colour Meets Financial Objectives

Festival Of Colour Meets Financial Objectives

The second Southern Lakes Festival of Colour opens its doors tomorrow (Tuesday) in the enviable position of having already met its financial objectives.

In a repeat of the inaugural Festival in 2005, advance ticket sales have already exceeded targets putting the event in a strong position for 2009.

“As this level of sales indicates, a number of shows are sold out but there are still many with tickets available. The surplus these additional sales generates will allow us to plan with confidence for 2009,” said festival chairman, John Beattie. “As a Trust, our first priority is to not incur liabilities we can not meet and the financial success announced today demonstrates this has been achieved. This is a wonderful position for an arts festival to be in and once this week’s festivities are over, we look forward to getting plans underway for 2009.”

The Festival of Colour runs from 24 to 29 April bringing a mix of national and international dance, music, theatre and the visual arts to the spectacular lakeside setting of Wanaka in the autumn. For further information visit www.festivalofcolour.co.nz
