Edinburgh Fringe Workshop in Wellington
Catherine O’Shea, Board Member of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, is in Wellington on 14 May and will deliver a free workshop for all performers and producers thinking of taking a production to the largest arts event in the world.
The 2006 Edinburgh Fringe included 1,800 different shows and sold 1.35 million tickets.
It’s a behemoth, and to make any prospective New Zealanders’ journey to the festival easier, British Council has organised a presentation covering the basics, tips, tricks, pitfalls and key dates.
This presentation is designed for representatives of production companies, playwrights or theatrical organisations who are interested in taking a work to the Fringe at some stage.
Catherine O’Shea is a playwright and producer who has brought numerous successful productions to the Edinburgh Fringe. In 2005 she jointed the Fringe Board and she is travelling around the world in 2007 delivering presentations on how to bring shows to the festival. She is accompanied Sasha Alsop a successful Fringe producer who will talk about the realities of performing at this event.
This presentation is free, but numbers are limited. To register your interest contact Richard.Kyle[at]britishcouncil.org.nz.
When: Monday 14 May 2007, 5.30pm
