New Zealand's 'Sweetheart Of The Rodeo' tours

Media Release: Monday April 16, 2007 Contact: The Label - 09 631 7741 - 0274 318 459 - lisa@thelabel.co.nz

New Zealand's 'Sweetheart Of The Rodeo' tours home before heading to Nashville, U.S.A.

In May 2007 Miriam Clancy will head out for her last nationwide tour for a while as she looks again to some promising contacts she made on her last visit to the States. Those who are familiar with Miriam's story know the impetus to record and release her debut album 'Lucky One' was largely driven by curiosity for her recorded material from connections of Kenny Rogers, Robbie Robertson and high profile Nashville producer Billy Block . And now with a fabulous debut album and a pile of great press under her arm Miriam is making plans to head back and make good on her promises to deliver.

Being described in a recent interview as a 'Sweetheart of The Rodeo' (Steven Shaw, spareroom.co.nz) seems a perfect fit for Miriam Clancy. She has been compared to Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and Martha Wainwright. She may blush at the suggestion but in the few short months since the release of her debut album 'Lucky One' she has earned accolades from some of this country's most seasoned music critics and the hearts of many new fans.

"a pearler of an album. Clancy has a strong voice and a musical style that sits across the divide between alt-country and pop. Looks like there's a new Sweetheart of the Rodeo in town." - Steven Shaw, www.spareroom.co.nz

"she's just as impressive brooding elegantly through another break-up or shouting the house down" - Russell Baillie, NZ Herald

"Concert Of The Year" and "New Zealand's answer to Martha Wainwright. She is destined to go places." - Steve Scott, Waikato Times.

"A rare talent that will knock your socks off Live!!" - Roger Marbeck, Ode Records.
